Miriam's 1st birthday

Miriam turned 1 on November 4.  We can't believe she is already 1 year old!  Time really flies.  Robin's mom & dad & sister, Megan, came to help celebrate Miriam's birthday.

On Friday, we went all went to the Smoky Mountains for the day.  Megan & Robin rode the Sky Lift in Gatlinburg that takes you up to the top of a mountain where you can enjoy the beautiful mountaintop view.
Megan tried on a skunk hat at the Sky Lift gift shop.
View from the top of the mountain.
We attempted to take a picture for our Christmas card.  Here are a couple of the potential pictures for the card.  You'll just have to wait & see which one we choose.  :)

We had Miriam's birthday party Saturday night.  Along with Robin's parents & sister, our friends, the Edwards, came over to help celebrate.
Here's Miriam wearing her birthday headband/hat & enjoying some pizza.
Miriam is a bit overwhelmed by her birthday cake.
Mom, I'm not going to waste my time on that crumb of cake when I have that huge cake I could dig into.
We had this cake made by a local lady who does cakes as a side business.
Proud daddy & mommy with their sweet birthday girl.
 The whole Matthews family.
Traditional birthday place mat started by Robin's parents who did the same thing for Robin & her siblings on their birthdays.
Miriam on her actual birthday (Sunday).  She wasn't too excited to put the birthday hat back on.

Listen to my sweet piano playing skills!
Ready to go to church wearing the dress that Neal's mom got Miriam when she was born.  This was the first time she wore this dress.  She looked beautiful! (Of course she did not leave the headband on.  It came off immediately after the picture was taken.)
All tuckered out from the birthday festivities.
Here's a video of Miriam digging into her little smash cake.

Halloween 2012

Here are some pictures from trick or treating.  It was fun to have Grandma & Grandpa & Aunt Meggie here to go with us.

Josiah & Miriam ready to go.
Josiah didn't stay in the wagon.  He was ready to walk & get some candy.
 On the hunt for candy...
Miriam was the keeper of the overflow candy bag.
Josiah was a pro.  He walked right up to each door ready to accept their treats.
This is Josiah's favorite holiday.  :)
Aunt Meggie sporting her spider hat.
Daddy & Miriam - aka Chicken Little - passing out candy to the trick or treaters.

Miriam figured we were all distracted with the picture taking, so she helped herself to the candy.
